EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APPLICATIONS 2012/2013
BOARD POSITIONS:
PRESIDENT
The president is in charge of the general running of the society and chairing
exec meetings. The president is expected to attend all events and act as the face
of the society, a notable figure in the university community. This role is also
responsible for liaising with university figureheads and supporting partners in
building the status and structure of the society.
Vice President
The vice president has a very varied and exciting role. They are responsible for
improving workflow and communication between executive members. They
must be multitalented and able to work within all other roles, as a replacement
in absence, or to provide additional support to other role specific members.
Communications & Online Director
This role encompasses all of the society's activities online, and is responsible for managing the online presence of the society through our website, Facebook and other social media. You will also be responsible for the majority of communications to our members: using email, facebook and txt messaging. Prior experience working online, or with websites is preferable.
Events Director
This role is responsible for devising innovative and exciting events to the society
members often with the president of the society. They are also responsible for
working out the logistics involved in coordinating events including location,
special guests, catering, timings and participation.
Marketing Director
This role is the creative face of the society. They are responsible for creating and
executing marketing campaigns and co ordinate all offline communication to
obtain new members and promote events. They will work closely with the IT and
Communication director who will facilitate online communication.
Finance Director
The finance and funding director is responsible for obtaining and maintaining
funding from various sources including traditional corporate sponsorships as
well as enterprising revenue streams. They will also be responsible for creating
budgets, for general operation costs and for specific events to always ensure a
positive cash flow.
